Data deletion instructions

You can ask ScaleIO, a product of Scalemind Consulting (Pty) Ltd, to delete the personal information it holds about you at any time. Pick the situation that fits you.

A. You commented on, or messaged, a business that uses ScaleIO

If you commented on a Facebook or Instagram post, or messaged a business on Facebook, Instagram or WhatsApp, and that business uses ScaleIO, the business controls that information and we process it for them.

  1. Email us at privacy@scaleio.ai with the subject "Data deletion request".
  2. Tell us which business (the Page or account name), which platform (Facebook, Instagram or WhatsApp), and how to identify you there: your profile name, a link to your comment, or the phone number you used on WhatsApp.
  3. We confirm receipt within 5 business days, tell the business, and delete your comments, messages and contact record from ScaleIO within 30 days. We email you a confirmation with a reference number when it is done.

Deleting data from ScaleIO does not delete the original comment from Facebook or Instagram. You can delete your own comment on the post, or ask the business to remove it.

B. You connected Facebook or Instagram to ScaleIO

If you are a business user who connected a Facebook Page or Instagram account to ScaleIO:

  1. Disconnect in ScaleIO: Settings → Connections → Meta → Disconnect. This stops all further access at once.
  2. Remove the app on Facebook: Facebook → Settings & privacy → Settings → Business integrations (or Apps and websites) → find ScaleIO → Remove.
  3. Ask us to delete the stored data: email privacy@scaleio.ai from the email on your ScaleIO account. We delete the stored access token, the Page and Instagram data we received, and the related comments and messages within 30 days, and confirm by email with a reference number.

C. You have, or had, a ScaleIO account

An account administrator can ask us to close the account and delete its data by emailing privacy@scaleio.ai. We can first export the account's data on request. Otherwise it is deleted or anonymised within 30 days of closure, except records the law requires us to keep, such as invoices.

D. You visited our website or booked a demo

Email privacy@scaleio.ai and we will delete your enquiry details. To clear analytics and advertising cookies, open "Cookie settings" in the site footer and choose Reject, or clear cookies in your browser.

What we keep, and why

We may keep a minimal record that a deletion took place (the reference number and date, but not the deleted content) to show we honoured the request, and any records we must keep by law. Backups roll over and are fully cleared within 35 days.
